Beyond inspiring tasty straw alternatives, Skip the Straw Day serves as a reminder of the small actions we can take to better protect our planet. American Licorice Company and its family of brands are continually working toward making our plastic packaging 100% recyclable, reusable or compostable. Though there is still a lot of work to be done, there are things we can all do today at work or at home to be more mindful of our environmental impact.
For instance, ever heard of wish-cycling? We’ve all done it. Wish-cycling is the practice of throwing uncertain items in the recycling bin, assuming or hoping that they’re recyclable when they might not be. That’s right – our well-intentioned efforts could actually be doing more bad than good! Not to worry. We have a few tips to help ensure our plastic goods end up in their appropriate receptacles.
To support our own responsible recycling efforts, American Licorice Company has teamed up with How2Recycle, a nonprofit organization dedicated to clarifying those confusing recycling questions.
