Position Overview:

 

An Engineering Management position with oversight responsibilities providing direction, vision and leadership for the LaPorte Maintenance Team. Change agent promoting lean culture and continuous improvement through problem solving consistent with American Licorice goals and values of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This position collaborates with essential management team for long range project planning.  Review and execute projects and manufacturing initiatives to ensure objectives are met within scope, budget, and time. Maintain departmental and capital budgets, priorities, organizational structure, and training programs for team development.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Provide technical, functional and other training opportunities to ensure staff development and effective contribution to the overall operation.
  • Plan for new product launches, ensuring appropriate staff is trained, special tools and unique parts are readily available prior to installation and necessary documentation and/or reporting requirements are implemented.
  • Establish and drive operational policies, procedures and standardized processes.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to maintenance team; providing advice and counsel to Maintenance Managers, Manufacturing Engineer, and Maintenance Coordinator on associate development and performance related issues.
  • Maintain close liaison with other functional organizations to ensure product service is in tune with all matters that may impact the organization and customer satisfaction.
  • Budget and P/L accountability, ensuring expenditures meet plant requirements.
  • Generate reports, communications, and facilitates project meetings.
  • Champion computerized maintenance program – development and integration.
  • Lead and facilitate special projects.
  • TPM Development.
  • Responsible for Food Safety as related to position.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Engineering Degree or Relevant Bachelors Degree with minimum of five years Maintenance Management/Project Managements experience or Associate Technical Degree with minimum of ten years Maintenance Management/Project Managements experience. 
  • Project Management Certifications or Project Management Experience.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Proven ability to drive and execute Complex Projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Successful leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership administrative, leadership planning and computer skills.
  • Significant understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Communication skills necessary to convey project objectives with associates & managers at all levels.
