Position Overview:

 

The Human Resources Generalist position requires a diverse knowledge in all areas of Human Resources.  This position is expected to lead by example by embracing and promoting the company’s core values: Integrity, Compassion, Engaged, and Team Player.

The Human Resources Generalist is involved in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office by planning, conducting, and coordinating the development, administration, and communication of HR programs and initiatives.  The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities/participation in the following functional areas: wellness and benefits programs, staffing and recruitment, training and development, compliance, departmental development, and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). 

 

Essential Job Functions:

·      Administer union benefits including Medical, Vision, Health Savings Accounts, and Life & ADD benefits.    

·      Manage union eligibility for benefits (lay-off, disability, etc.…)

·      Coordinate Open Enrollment for all associates (union & non-union) 

·      Wellness Administration to include: 

o   Manage ALC Store and monthly item purchases

o   Organization of On-Site Health Screenings

o   Maintain Wellness Center

o   Organize Health fairs & awareness events

·      Maintain a strong co-employment relationship with appropriate local staffing agency to ensure the right people are available at the right time.

·      Manage, evaluate and further develop the recruitment process for all union (direct and contract) associates:

o   Conduct interviews

o   Direct pre-employment screening

·      Manage, evaluate and further develop the on-boarding process for all associates:

o   New hire paperwork

o   New hire orientation

·      Prepare and present associate communication for programs, processes and procedures within human resources and other areas as assigned. 

·      Administer and provide information for all weekly associates’ Family Medical, Military and Personal leaves of absence, including ADAAA.

·      Work with HR team to coordinate associate events/celebrations i.e. birthday, anniversary, new birth, family day, picnic, holiday party, and community events. 

  • The HR Generalist assumes many project responsibilities that encompass all functional areas of HR including: recruitment, training, human resources development, and employee relations.
  • Responsible for Food Safety, as required by position.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • Possess a minimum of two years related work experience.
  • Strong computer skills, HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite and other web based programs.
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.
  • Flexibility to cover all three shifts as needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Possess basic knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a necessity.
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of recruitment, selection, applicant hiring, and orientation processes.
  • Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices and procedures.
