Position Overview:

This position will help lead the electrical and instrumentation requirements of the maintenance department.  The ideal candidate must have experience working in an automated manufacturing environment.  Ensure the highest level of commitment & requirement for compliance to Safe Quality Food (SQF).

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure production equipment is in good working order and operating condition, supporting production and quality efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment.
  • Completing assigned project work orders in a timely manner and responding to maintenance calls.
  • Ordering and maintaining parts inventory on assigned equipment
  • Maintaining clean work environment in maintenance work areas. 
  • Contributing to continuous improvement projects and efforts.
  • Adheres to and participates in all safety projects.
  • General maintenance in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain communication with appropriate operators, supervisor, and management.
  • Run cat 5 cable, terminate, and test local area network.  Run telephone lines, terminate, punch down, and test.
  • Complete installations and modifications of equipment, calculate total power requirements, size panelboard, circuit breakers, and wire. 
  • Sizing an installing single and 3 phase AC motors and variable frequency drives.
  • Installation and repair of electro-magnetic motor starters with eutectic ally and electronic overload circuits.
  • Layout, build, and wire operator control panels and sub panels, run wire to various system components, terminate, and test.
  • Design PLC based control systems for various automated applications.  Install and program Allen-Bradley PLC’s with various analog and digital, input and output cards, Device Net communications, and Data Highway Plus. 
  • Document all work including ladder diagrams, wiring schedule, panel layouts, and parts lists.
  • Write description of systems, maintenance troubleshooting guides, and operating instructions.
  • Complies with safety rules, SOPs. SQF, and GMPs guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned.   

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of maintenance, repair, and preventive measures is preferred. 
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prior Food experience desired.
  • Bi-lingual English-Spanish helpful.

 

Qualifications:

  • Good computer skills and fluent with MS Word, MS Excel, RsLogix, RsLinx, RsView, PanelBuilder, Device Net, and general e-mail.
  • Hands on experience of typical 480/277/208/120 volt, single and 3 phase, industrial wiring and power distribution. 
  • Extensive knowledge of temperature controllers, RTD’s and thermocouples, magnetic and mass flow meters, pressure transducers, current transmitters, photo-electric, inductive, capacitive, and ultrasonic proximity sensors.

Position Overview:

 

The Maintenance Technician’s responsibility is to perform daily equipment and building maintenance to ensure proper functioning of plant manufacturing operations and systems while adhering to company standards, and policies. Candidate corrects/repairs plant mechanical and electrical problems; performs preventative maintenance, completes work orders and assigned projects.

SQF Coordinator

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for administering and maintaining applicable Food Safety Programs & Policies; implementation and continuous improvement of food safety focused programs including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), SQF Food Safety and Quality systems and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). He/she will monitor daily Quality and may perform ongoing procedural updates and audits. Administer and execute policies and procedures and has clear understanding of manufacturing processes and hold QA techs/associates accountable to adhere to the standards.

 

The SQF Coordinator analyzes each consumer complaint, checks the trend, gathers production documents and methodically arrives at more concrete answers.  This process will challenge processes and our current operational norm.  Can understand basic concepts in math and figure out simple calculations, analyze the errors in mock recall product tally and question production. Capable of understanding production reports and pose questions on batches made, FIFO, train associates on trending deficiencies.  Understand basic SQF concepts and run with production guiding them to their understanding.  Make internal audits as a trainable event and create awareness. Hold accountable front-line associates and managers earning their respect and willingness to help achieve quality expectations.  Understand computers and learn current warehouse management systems. Communication skills: Expected to work at all levels.

Position Overview:

 

The Materials Planner is responsible for the timely planning, ordering, and inventory control of raw ingredients, packaging materials, and other miscellaneous items as required by manufacturing in the LaPorte facility. This position is responsible for all activities involved with determining supply needs, scheduling for arrival, and assuring the arrival of these goods and services and managing their inventory for LaPorte Operations. The Materials Planner also assists in the cost control of materials as coordinated with Supply Chain Purchasing and Cost Accounting associates.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • To work closely with the Demand Planning Manager as well as manufacturing leadership to calculate material needs based on production forecasts, schedules and current inventory levels.
  • Once needs are established, this position must ensure that correct quantities are planned, ordered, and received as required to maintain efficient production flow.
  • Assures that accurate inventories are being maintained in the ERP system, that material orders are being scheduled for receipt as efficiently as possible working with warehouse management, and confirming that all ordered material has been received.
  • Assists the Corporate Materials Manager in setting goals for inventory turns and keeping inventories within the established tolerances balanced with scheduling and manufacturing needs.
  • Assists in or performing cycle counts to assure accuracy of inventory in the ERP system and assisting in or performing period-end physical inventories as scheduled or as necessary.
  • Helps to determine necessary changes related to cycle counts and period end inventory processes or counts and communicating them appropriately.
  • Tracks inventory to assure proper and timely communication of necessary inventory adjustments, changes to standard costs, cost variances, and any other factor to assure accuracy of inventory and its value.
  • Works with the Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Coordinator to ensure smooth warehouse operations by communicating inbound material details in a timely manner.
  • Supports lean manufacturing and best practices in all aspects of material ordering, storage, and movement.
  • Within established guidelines of responsibility as set by Supply Chain Management, to meet with current and prospective vendors to ensure the Company is getting competitive pricing, the best service, and the necessary quality of materials.
  • Procures goods based upon methods established by Supply Chain Management such as, but not limited to: direct purchase, bid, flat forward contract, market based, or combination.
  • Prepares and issue all purchase orders under established guidelines.
  • Maintains procurement records including tracking costs of items, delivery time frame performance, product quality performance, and inventories.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality control and/or manufacturing associates and vendors, to determine the source of any issue and implement corrective action.
  • Attends packaging proofing runs at vendor locations as necessary, making go/no go decisions on production runs at packaging film and container vendors.
  • Approves invoices for payment when appropriate and within established tolerances.
  • Operates as a back up to primary associates in these areas, associate may be required to help in other Supply chain tasks such as ship confirming, following up on distribution or warehouse issues, communicating with CRM and the Union City facility.

 Position Overview:

 

The Business Systems Engineer helps the organization identify and focus on the highest-value business initiatives.  Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs to create systems solutions that support overall business strategies.  Works with appropriate DBS associates to design and implement systems solutions which will adequately address the enterprise infrastructure needs of the organization.  Analyzes system requirements and ensures that systems will be effectively integrated with current applications.  Documents system requirements defines scope and objectives and create system specifications that drive system development and implementation.  This role acts as a liaison between DBS and the other departments and must have both business and technical expertise. 

 

The position reports to the Director of Digital Business Solutions and requires an individual who can work independently or as part of a project team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage appropriate associates of the DBS department.
  • Act as mentor to the organization by sharing application experience.
  • Collaborate with people throughout the organization on strategic business solutions
  • Uncover high-value business problems and opportunities
  • Lead process improvement initiatives
  • Develop and review detailed program specifications from system design specifications or business requirements.  Reviews, analyzes and modifies the programming systems including encoding, testing, and debugging to support the organization’s infrastructure applications.
  • Analyze and develop logical resolutions for business issues from a technical and business perspective.
  • Develop and configure interfaces with third-party software tools/utilities.
  • Design technical solutions and lead implementation projects.
  • Demonstrate high commitment to quality and ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Direct and manage external vendors and consulting teams effectively to ensure accountability and successful delivery of all projects.
  • Ensure timely execution of all projects and the ability to communicate when issues arise that interfere with timelines.
  • Must have the desire to learn new technology and tools quickly.
  • Ensure that people are aware of the information processing tools and techniques available to them and collaborate with training to prepare people in use of technology and IT systems.
  • Continually assess and evaluate the impact of emerging technologies against the strategic business needs and value.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure, applications programming and web and software applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of technology environments including telecommunications, networks, Saas and programming.
  • Technical experience with systems networking, databases, web development, ERP systems and end user support.
  • Process documentation/improvement experience.
  • Relational Database experience along with SQL Server.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
