Position Overview:

 

The Maintenance Technician’s responsibility is to perform daily equipment and building maintenance to ensure proper functioning of plant manufacturing operations and systems while adhering to company standards, and policies. Candidate corrects/repairs plant mechanical and electrical problems; performs preventative maintenance, completes work orders and assigned projects.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Have good understanding and sufficient mastery of mechanical and electrical trouble shooting
  • Have the maintenance skills to perform the job effectively
  • Have general knowledge of plumbing, welding & fabrication, PLC/Industrial Electronics, Power Transmission, Electrical Controls, Hydraulics/Pneumatics
  • ability to interpret mechanical and electrical prints to resolve equipment
  • Execute work requests and project assignments as directed by the Maintenance Manager in a safe, professional and timely manner.
  • Provide effective communication at all levels, across all shifts; both verbal and written.
  • Promote team work as well as creating a safe, positive work environment. 
  • Responsible for Food Safety, as related to the position

Position Overview:

The Community Outreach and Sustainability Specialist position holds responsibilities in Corporate Social Responsibility. The position is responsible for ensuring that American Licorice Company is living up to its ideals of investing in the happiness of our consumers, associates, communities, and environment. The position coordinates overall environmental efforts; acts as a lead on American Licorice Company Social Responsibility initiatives; leads companywide engagement efforts; represents American Licorice Company externally; and manages relationships with external parties and consultants.

Position Overview:

 

The Sr. Business Manager role is responsible for profitable sales growth and brand development in select U.S channels including Discount and Military, as well as Costco.  This role will also be responsible for launching our brands in International markets.   The position also manages the Military broker. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • The position will be responsible for establishing sales and profit goals, achievement of distribution and product placement quotas, and successful management of multi-level contacts within assigned accounts in Discount and Military Channels and Costco.
  • Development of goals and objectives (sales and spend) for accounts in alignment with corporate goals, and collaboration with broker partners.
  • Work through Brokers to maximize Broker capabilities and strengths to develop each COT business. Direct responsibility for management of the Military Broker.
  • Share best business practices proactively with Candy Alliance partners. Attend Candy Alliance meetings.

  • Monitor trade spend – ongoing involvement with channel trade spend criteria and budgets.

  • Generate and analyze data, both IRI and Point of Sale for use in fact based selling. 
  • Understand and manage Profit and Losses for accounts.
  • Expert on Discount and Military & Club – share information and changes in retail landscape and market place conditions
  • Evaluate and communicate new product opportunities (esp. for Discount) through understanding of marketplace and industry changes. Ensure products meet needs of accounts.
  • Participate in Industry and trade event/shows for continual education and communicate updates back to company
  • Responsible for Food Safety as related to position.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Six to nine plus years of sales management experience in a CPG company.

  • Direct selling experience to top National accounts.
  • Strong experience in MS Office and IRI/Nielsen scan data required.

SQF Coordinator

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for administering and maintaining applicable Food Safety Programs & Policies; implementation and continuous improvement of food safety focused programs including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), SQF Food Safety and Quality systems and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). He/she will monitor daily Quality and may perform ongoing procedural updates and audits. Administer and execute policies and procedures and has clear understanding of manufacturing processes and hold QA techs/associates accountable to adhere to the standards.

 

The SQF Coordinator analyzes each consumer complaint, checks the trend, gathers production documents and methodically arrives at more concrete answers.  This process will challenge processes and our current operational norm.  Can understand basic concepts in math and figure out simple calculations, analyze the errors in mock recall product tally and question production. Capable of understanding production reports and pose questions on batches made, FIFO, train associates on trending deficiencies.  Understand basic SQF concepts and run with production guiding them to their understanding.  Make internal audits as a trainable event and create awareness. Hold accountable front-line associates and managers earning their respect and willingness to help achieve quality expectations.  Understand computers and learn current warehouse management systems. Communication skills: Expected to work at all levels.

 Environmental exposure would primarily be in the plant manufacturing and office areas with limited exposure to the outside of the plant.  Potential contact to a variety of materials and ingredients used in the manufacture of product and like the plant associates may require proper use of PPE.

Position Overview:

 

The Safety Specialist develops and administers programs to ensure a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA, federal, state & local regulations for the Union City location.  This individual will also manage safety programs to ensure a safe and incident free work environment.  Plans and/or delivers programs to train managers and associates in work site safety practices.  Promotes plant safety by working with all departments to analyze current situation and recommend safety improvements.  Analyzes incident data to identify trends and incident types that can be prevented. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

·      Ensure compliance with CalOSHA federal, state & local regulations.

·      Coordinate with the Safety Manager & administer effective safety programs to establish a zero accident culture.

·      Responsible for local Worker’s Compensation compliance.

·      Administer and coordinate annual risk assessments (FM Global) for the buildings and equipment.  Work with management and risk insurance carrier to resolve any concerns and to ensure compliance 

·      Investigate, analyze and document all incidents and near misses.

·      Conduct root cause analysis and solutions for safety issues.

·      Ensure that corrective actions are administered as result of safety policy violations.

·      Identify trends and contributing factors that impact associates’ environment related to incidents.  Research, suggest and implement solutions to safety hazards 

·      Develop and deliver safety training as needed on-site i.e., OSHA 10 & 30 hour certification.  CPR/First Aid/AED training.

·      Lead monthly Safety Committee meetings.

·      New hire safety orientation (GMP’s, House Rules, Emergency Evacuation procedures)

·      Review all SDS’ to ensure associates have proper Personal Protective Equipment for the job in compliance with SDS’.  Provide additional training as needed.

·      Ensure that proper PPE is ordered and available as required.

·      Assists in managing hazardous waste disposal and appropriate documentation as required by OSHA.

·      Ensure that water coolers are maintained, call for service as necessary.

·      Assists as needed in ensuring appropriate cleaning supplies and chemicals are ordered and in house as needed.

·      Responsible for Food Safety as related to position.

·      Manages all safety recognition programs (safety raffles, gift cards, etc.…).

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
  • Public Relations Experience.
  • Bilingual Preferred – Spanish.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Self-starter with strong initiative.
  • Capable of understanding larger programs and projects and able to break them down into a manageable and achievable tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Should have certification in OSHA.
  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of people.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • OSHA authorized 10 & 30 hour trainer preferred.
  • Certified CPR/First Aid/AED trainer preferred.
